Your Academy Toolkit: How to Use Our Tools
School 00 — Orientation
School 0 · Orientation · About 10 minutes
The Academy gives you free lessons. It also gives you tools — worksheets, planners, templates, and calculators that turn what you learn into something real. This class shows you what's available, who each tool is for, and how to use them together.
What you will learn
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
- Name the three groups of Academy tools and who each is for.
- Explain why writing things down makes your money real.
- Pick the right tool for where you are right now.
- Describe the learn-then-do system for using tools with lessons.
1. The big idea: get it out of your head and onto paper
Everything in our shop exists for one reason: to make you do the work physically.
When numbers live in your head, they're imaginary. When you write them down — on a printed worksheet, in a planner, on your screen — they become real. You see what your money actually is. You see where your business actually stands. You see what your retirement actually looks like.
That's the whole point. Think it through, write it down, see it clearly, take action.
2. If you're just getting started with money
Learning the basics — budgeting, saving, getting out of debt — these are your tools.
Monthly Budget Planner. Where most people should start. List your income, track every expense, set savings goals, review at month's end. Print a fresh one each month and watch your spending come into focus.
Debt Payoff Tracker. List every debt — who you owe, how much, the interest rate. Pick your plan: snowball (smallest first, for momentum) or avalanche (highest rate first, for math). Check them off as they fall.
Net Worth Tracker. The single number that tells you if you're getting richer or poorer. List what you own versus what you owe, log it monthly, and watch the line move.
Starter Kit Bundle. The Budget Planner and Debt Tracker together — the two most important tools for anyone taking control of their money for the first time. Includes free motivational posters.
Money Mastery Bundle. All five planners and trackers in one package. Budgeting, debt, net worth, investing, retirement — the complete money toolkit. Includes free motivational posters.
3. If you're an entrepreneur
Starting or running a business — these tools keep you organized, on track, and honest about your numbers.
Business Plan Template. A complete fill-in-the-blank business plan with a worked example. If you're serious about starting something, this forces you to think through every part — your offer, your customers, your costs, your plan.
Startup Checklist Bundle. Step-by-step checklists so you don't miss anything when launching. The unglamorous stuff that sinks businesses when it's forgotten.
Notion Business Dashboard. Your whole business in one place: projects, tasks, finances, goals, contacts. Import it into Notion and run your operation from a single screen.
Small-Business Email Templates. Ready-to-send emails for clients, follow-ups, and onboarding. Stop staring at a blank screen every time you need to write a professional email.
Freelancer Invoice Templates. Modern, classic, and minimal invoice designs plus a payment tracker. Look professional from day one and never lose track of who owes you.
Freelancer Pricing Calculator. Figure out your floor rate, your target rate, and what to charge per project. Most freelancers undercharge — this makes sure you don't.
90-Day Social Content Calendar. Ninety days of post ideas organized week by week. If marketing feels overwhelming, this turns it into a simple daily task.
ChatGPT Business Prompt Pack. Fifty-plus copy-paste prompts for business planning, marketing, and operations. Use AI like an assistant, not a toy.
Ultimate Wealth Kit. All five money printables plus step-by-step video walkthroughs showing you exactly how to use each one. For people who want guidance, not just tools.
4. If you're planning for retirement
Whether retirement is 30 years away or 5 — these tools turn worry into a plan.
Retirement Savings Workbook. Set your retirement target, figure out your savings rate, and build a 90-day action plan. Retirement stops feeling abstract once you've written down your actual numbers.
Retirement Masterclass. The complete system: Social Security timing, Medicare, taxes, annuities, health care costs, downsizing, living overseas, and making it work on a tight budget. Fourteen modules, calculators, printable workbooks, and a guided 90-day program.
Retirement Calculators. Free in the members area: Social Security timing, withdrawal longevity, long-term care costs, and required minimum distributions with IRS-verified tables. Run your numbers before you guess.
5. How to use these with your lessons
Simple system: learn, then do.
- Take a lesson in the Academy.
- At the bottom you'll see a "Put this into practice" card with the matching tool.
- Grab the tool and apply what you just learned — today, not someday.
The lessons teach you what to do. The tools give you where to do it.
6. A note from Luke
I built these tools because I needed them myself. Every one is something I use or wish I'd had when I was starting out. They're simple on purpose — the best tool is the one you'll actually pick up and use.
Start with one. Master it. Then add the next.

You'll find every tool mentioned here in the Academy shop. The lessons that go with them are free.
